Durban

Durban is a world metropolis with about 4 million inhabitants and is the ideal starting point to get to know the ‘civilized’ Africa.

The local winter (May to August) is characterized by nearly day-long sunshine at around 24 degrees. In the evening, however, a jacket is highly recommended.

Kit surfer can be found in Ballito and in Amanzimtoti, about 20km south of Durban.

Kloof is little further in the west of Durban. Located at 530 metres above sea level, the climate is known as one of the best in South Africa. Only 35.000 people live in the cosy village which received its name from the steep valley of the Molweni River. The word ‘Kloof’ is derived from one of the local languages meaning Gorge. Kloof stand out for its large property stands (minimum size 1800 square meters) and the abundance of open spaces.
